He brought a real gun to a water gun fight.
An unhinged Florida man pulled a handgun on a group of teenage pranksters who had fired a water pellet gun at his car after mistaking it for their friend’s vehicle.
A15-year-old boy had been riding around Port St. Lucie with pals when he opened fire on 49-year-old Gregory Allen Davis’ vehicle with his Orbeez blaster on the evening of July 1, the Port St. Lucie Police Department said.
“Police, please, we’re being shot at,” Davis said, according to the 911 call, with his fiancée adding the shots appeared to be coming from a BB gun.
The furious Floridian then proceeded to tail the teens’ vehicle, shouting at the crew to “pull over now!” according to police and a recording of the 911 call.
Davis then pulled a 9mm handgun on the gaggle of teens who had stopped their vehicle, demanding that they “get the f–k out of the car,” according to cops and witness video.
Officers arrived on scene soon after and quickly diffused the situation, taking Davis’ firearm and arresting him.
“Why are we pointing guns at kids?” an incredulous Port St. Lucie police officer asks Davis, before taking his pistol, according to body-worn camera footage of the incident.
An investigation by officers on the scene quickly pieced together that the teens had shot at Davis’ car under the impression that the vehicle was that of a friend who they’d been trying to prank, police said.
They also realized that the gun being used wasn’t a BB gun – but a glorified water gun.
Cops later charged Davis with aggravated assault and false imprisonment of a child. The teenage Orbeez shooter was hit with a charge for throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle.
Davis could not be reached for comment. His attorney did not respond for a request for comment by time of publication.
