The Lake Theater and Cafe’s marquee read, “Before there were the Jews, there was… The Odyssey.” The marquee sparked outrage in the Jewish community, and critics claimed the message was historically inaccurate.
GUEST EDITORIAL: Warren Cohn, CEO and founder of Rocketship PR and media adviser to the American Middle East Press Association, writes that Zohran Mamdani’s obsession with Israel is coming at the expense of the city he was elected to govern. “New Yorkers elected a mayor to obsess over New York, over crime, over housing, over sanitation, over schools,” not a country 6,000 miles away, Cohn writes.
