ICE acting director agrees to release body cam footage from Minnesota

The head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) committed to releasing body camera footage from agents on the ground in Minnesota during testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee.

“That’s one thing that I’m committed to, is full transparency, and I fully welcome body cameras,” ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons said.

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) argued the move is needed to boost public trust.

“Everyone assumes this body camera footage is bad footage,” he said. “In so many cases, it’s the exact opposite.”
