Jane Seymour Gushes Over Finding ‘Magical’ Love at 75 With Fiance John Zambetti: In My ‘Prime’ (Exclusive)

Jane Seymour has never been one to shy away from love, but she revealed there’s something “magical” about finding the right partner in her 70s.

Seymour, 75, exclusively told Us Weekly that she and fiancé John Zambetti couldn’t wait to start living together prior to him asking for her hand in marriage in June.

“He said, ‘I want to go out with you,’ and I want to go out with him,” the actress, who is promoting season 5 of Harry Wild, premiering on Monday, June 22, said of the couple’s decision to move in before their three-year dating anniversary. “I can’t imagine any other relationship that I’d ever want in my life.”

Seymour, who has been married four times, explained that because she and Zambetti are older, “We can’t wait around for years to decide, ‘Do we live together? What do we do?’”

The Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman alum revealed that with the musician and emergency room doctor, she knew “it was right” very early on. (Seymour exclusively confirmed to Us on Thursday, June 11, at the Songwriters Hall of Fame that Zambetti had recently proposed.)

“Every day I am happier than the day before,” Seymour gushed, noting that the pair will celebrate their three-year anniversary on August 4.

The Emmy winner told Us that during their short time together, she has become Zambetti’s “muse,” which has made her feel even more loved.

“He’s done all this amazing music. He’s got four albums out since we’ve been together. I can’t stop him,” Seymour shared. “Literally every day he says, ‘Listen to this,’ and [in] the middle of the night, he’ll have an idea, and he said, ‘Don’t talk, I’m asleep.’ And then you go, and he’ll get the guitar out, and he’ll just start writing something.”

Seymour appeared to be giddy as she spoke about her partner, revealing, “I just love that I am, kind of, exciting him.”

She noted how happy it makes her to see that she’s been “some sort of inspiration for him, whilst he’s clearly an inspiration for me.”

“That is just magic,” Seymour said. “To be with somebody where you’re both at a certain time in your life, you know your kids already knew each other before we met, they’re getting married and having babies and all of that, we’re grandparents now to all kinds of children.”

Seymour was previously married to Michael Attenborough from 1971 to 1973 and to Geoffrey Planer from 1977 to 1978.

The actress married Dylan Flynn in 1981 and the pair welcomed daughter Katherine, 44, and son Sean, 40. The pair divorced in 1992. Seymour married James Keach in 1993 and they went on to welcome twin sons, John and Kristopher, now 30. Seymour and Keach, 78, split after a decade, finalizing their divorce in 2015.

Zambetti, for his part, has two children from a prior marriage.

Seymour told Us in early June that her “lot” wants to call Zambetti “grandpa,” which for her is “really magical.”

She noted that their love of family is just one way that the couple have bonded. “He loves adventure as much as I do,” Seymour said of her partner. “So if I say, ‘How’s Vietnam sound?’ We go, ‘Yep, let’s see where that takes us, that’ll be exciting.’”

Seymour’s magical romance is just one of the ways she feels her 70s are her best decade yet. She explained that her role as retired professor-turned-sleuth Harry Wild on AcornTV’s Harry Wild has made her feel professionally fulfilled as well.

“I consider it one of the greatest gifts of all time, because I honestly believe I’m in my prime now,” she shared with Us of the TV show, which is going into its fifth season. “I think I’m a better actress than I ever was when I was younger, but I also have had so much experience that I can bring with it. And at the same time, I’m doing something I’ve never done before, it’s new, and it’s exciting and it’s a stretch.”

Seymour added that being one of the producers on the project has made her feel like she’s “part of the whole rather than just [an] actress for hire.”

When it comes to what fans can expect from season 5 of the mystery series, Seymour told Us it’s “one of the best seasons we’ve had for a number of reasons.”

“First of all, Jo Spain and Dave Logan have come up with amazing stories, really good mysteries, ones that even I couldn’t solve,” she teased. “Some really kind of outlandish, different kinds of characters and concepts that you would never think of.”

Seymour added that bringing in her former Dr. Quinn love interest, Joe Lando, to play pathologist Pierce Kennedy will please fans old and new.

“It’s a wonderful character, and he’s in most of the six episodes,” she shared. “It’s been a lot of fun.”

Season 5 of Harry Wild premieres on AcornTV on Monday, June 22.
