A man has been flown to hospital after he was shot in the hand and torso outside a home on the Central Coast.
NSW Ambulance treated the 37-year-old man for “multiple injuries” following the shooting on Lakedge Avenue, Berkeley Vale, 60 kilometres north of Sydney, about 6:15am on Wednesday.
The man was flown to hospital in a serious condition.
NSW Police said an investigation is underway to track down the people behind the alleged attack.
Police are searching for the driver of a GWM 4WD ute with roof racks and a roll bar seen in the area around the time of the shooting.
Last week, two mistaken identity shootings, on consecutive days, sparked additional measures to target people accused of orchestrating attacks linked to Sydney’s escalating gang conflicts.
University student Marco Tapia, 23, was shot in his bed in Glen Alpine, before business owner Joshua Macdonald, 40, was killed outside a Merrylands West home.
It is not yet known if Wednesday’s shooting has any links to organised crime.
