It’s the glove that helped change pop culture forever — and now it’s up for grabs to a lucky bidder with deep pockets.
One of Michael Jackson’s most iconic accessories — his signature white rhinestone glove — is heading to auction, giving fans and collectors a rare shot at owning a piece of music history.
The dazzling piece, believed to date back to around 1984 and possibly worn on stage, is listed by Nate D. Sanders Auctions, with bidding set to close April 30, according to the listing.
Bidding for the iconic piece starts at $50,000.
The glove became synonymous with Jackson’s larger than life persona after his legendary performance of “Billie Jean” during the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever special — the night he debuted the moonwalk and cemented his place as the King of Pop.
Jackson later revealed in a 1999 interview with Barbara Walters that he opted for a single glove simply because it looked “cooler than two.”
And this isn’t some knockoff. The glove comes with a paper trail linking it directly to Jackson.
According to the auction house, Jackson gifted the piece in 1984 to Paul Bedard, who collaborated with the superstar during the “Thriller” era an created artwork for his famed Neverland Ranch estate.
The lot includes extensive documentation backing its authenticity — including a signed declaration from Bedard, photos of him wearing the glove at the time, copies of Jackson’s handwritten notes and even records tied to the glove’s prior sale in 2005.
The off-white glove itself shows signs of wear from its heyday, with crystal beading, minor fabric stress and scuffing — but remains in “very good condition,” per the listing.
The auction arrives as interest in Jackson is heating up again ahead of the upcoming biopic “Michael,” starring Jackson’s nephew Jaafar.
And for deep-pocketed fans, the chance to snag the glove that helped define an era might just be too smooth to pass up.
