Oklahoma mom’s body found stuffed in trash bin after adopted teen son allegedly killed her

An Oklahoma mom was murdered and her body dumped in a trashcan at her sunny suburban home — and her own adopted son was arrested for the killing.

Spring Weems, 47, was killed some time Wednesday, according to cops who discovered her body after responding to her Edmond home, where neighbors had reported two teen boys fighting with weapons.

When cops arrived, one of the boys accused the other of killing their mother and stuffing her in a trash collection bin — and when officers looked, they found Weems dead inside, the Daily Mail reported.

The accused teen was arrested for first-degree murder and sent to juvenile detention, but has not been charged yet.

Both of the boys had been adopted by Weems, and she was their sole caretaker in their $340,000 home near Oklahoma City.

The boys are 16 and 17, according to the Mail, though it remains unclear which was accused of the murder.

Weems appeared to be a doting mother to her boys, with social media posts showing her constantly attending their high school wrestling matches and showing off a stream of their every accomplishment for friends to see.

Weems was also a devoted member of her church and appeared to have encouraged the boys to follow her faith.

Many of her social media posts had to do with Christian teachings — including one where she recalled teaching her children not to fight, but to love one another.

“Our FATHER wants the same for us, so tomorrow let’s reflect on UNITY, as we are ALL brothers and sisters under the same Creator, & HE wants HIS children to live in harmony TOGETHER!” she wrote in one post.

In another, Weems shared a photo of one of her sons covered in paint after a church activity.

“They may come home dirty but they leave with a message of Faith, Community, Accountability, Camaraderie, Leadership & Moral Compass in their/our difficult teen years,” the post read.

Weems’ killing shocked her sleepy neighborhood.

“It is tragic because it involves our youth,” a neighbor told KFOR.

“This is a great neighborhood. Kids are always running around, riding their bikes down the street, and golf carts down the street,” they added.

The investigation remains ongoing, and a home is being found for Weems’ other son.
