Police have handed over large downloads from seven devices to prosecutors in the case of a man accused of killing Queensland mother Crystal Beale before dumping her body in the Brisbane River.

The mother of two, 49, was last seen alive in West End in February 2025, after she went out to dinner in Sunnybank with her family.

Afterwards, she was said to have been dropped off by her former partner, Jesse Wahlen Beale, on Ryan Street in West End about 9.30pm.

Jesse Beale was arrested and charged over the alleged murder of his former wife Crystal Beale.Facebook

Police allege she was murdered that evening around Ryan Street, and her body then taken to the river near Orleigh Park in West End.

Jesse Beale allegedly searched the Bureau of Meteorology for tide times that night. The following day, he allegedly searched for whether a VPN hides search histories, and “CCTV cameras near me”.

He was later arrested in Maudsland, in the northern Gold Coast, and charged with murder and misconduct with a corpse.

The court has previously heard that Jesse Beale allegedly kept images of Crystal being sexually assaulted while unconscious on a device.

In a brief hearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, Prosecutor Bianca Rapisarda said that DNA results had been received and disclosed to the defence.

She said there were seven device downloads that remained outstanding, and asked for the case to be adjourned.

“Police attempted to provide them to our office this week, but the downloads were corrupted, and we couldn’t open any of them,” Rapisarda told the court.

“We’re just waiting for them to provide it in a suitable format. I understand they’re quite large.”

The case was adjourned to July 27 to allow time for the downloads to be disclosed.

Jesse Beale remains in custody.
