Police launch murder investigation after man found dead in West End

An investigation is under way after a man was found dead with “critical” injuries” in a West End flat on Saturday morning.

Emergency teams were called to the complex on Ryan Street about 4.30am.

A 50-year-old man from the area was found inside “unresponsive with critical injuries”. He was later declared dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson confirmed a murder investigation was under way, with the area declared a crime scene.

“There is no ongoing concern to other members of the community in West End,” police said.

Anyone with information about the death was urged to come forward.

Ryan Street runs parallel to the Brisbane River, opposite St Lucia, and is about one kilometre from the heart of Boundary Street in West End.
