A predator raped a woman inside a waterfront Brooklyn park earlier this week, cops said Friday.
The sex fiend cornered the 59-year-old woman as she walked inside Kaiser Park, near the corner of Bayview and Neptune Avenues, in Coney Island around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
The NYPD released a sketch of the still-at-large perv, who police say did not know the victim.
The woman refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect strolling on the sidewalk wearing all black with a hood pulled up over his head, carrying a backpack.
Reported rapes have declined so far this year in the confines of the NYPD’s 60th Precinct, which covers the area, according to the latest department data, updated Sunday.
A total of 10 such crimes have been reported within the precinct’s confines, compared to 17 during the same period last year.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call the NYPD’s Sex Crimes Hotline at 1-212-267-7273 or 646-610-7272, the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
