Single woman lists ‘bare minimum’ dating rules for ‘clueless’ men — but guys aren’t buying it

Class is in session for clueless men — and according to one viral TikTok, they’re getting a big, fat “F.”

23-year-old Courtney Bell, a social media manager in NYC, divided male and female viewers with her recent TikTok, which she frames as a PSA to “unconfuse” men on modern dating rules.

Among Bell’s “bare minimum” requirements for a wannabe suitor:

“Pick a restaurant, make a reservation, text her the details, send a car to pick her up.”

Bell gives some basic requirements for the date itself, telling clueless dudes to “stand up when [their date] arrives, ask her questions about herself as well as speaking about yourself, and include details and depth when speaking about yourself.”

When the date’s over, she sternly schools them on the manners of picking up the check, telling men to “sign with haste, put the card down, tip well.”

Bell also calls out some potential bad behavior, telling men to fuggetabout asking the girl for an overnight romp.

Instead, she suggests wannabe Romeos finish the evening with a “lovely goodbye,” followed by a short but sweet text when they arrive home.

“Text her the next day to reinforce the great date,” Bell continued. “Ask availability for the next date. Also send details for what you have in mind.”

Visibly spent, Bell takes a brief pause.

“Simple as that,” she says. “Any questions?”’

The millions of TikTok viewers who found Bell’s video didn’t have questions — but some hapless men sure had the audacity.

“‘Do all the work, spend all your money, while I put out minimal effort,’” scoffed one lonely commenter. “That’s all I heard.”

“Send a car? Who am I? Jeff Bezos?!” added another seemingly broke suitor.

“All while she talks to other men,” accused an online incel.

Other desperate dudes accused Bell — and women in general — of being bad feminists for expecting to be treated to a meal, or even waiting for someone to hold the door for them.

“So is it down with the patriarchy or not?” asked one viewer. “There seems to have to be no investment of any kind on the women’s end.”

“No girl deserves that much,” said one seemingly deranged commenter.

But women appreciated the TikTok poster’s succinctness and candor.

“The fact that this isn’t common sense is insane,” commented one user.

“Unfortunately, they know this. They aren’t stupid, they just don’t value us,” said another more jaded netizen.

“This would send a low-effort man into a mf coma!” exclaimed a female viewer. “Just look at them in the comments.”

Bell exclusively told The Post that she was inspired to make the vid after some personal, tumultuous dating experiences, along with those of her sister and close friends. She emphasized that she had “zero expectations” of her video blowing up online, but understands why it struck a universal nerve.

“I think it touched so many people because there’s a true dating crisis going on right now,” said Bell, who added that she’s the one her friends go to for dating advice, though she’s never been in an official relationship herself.

“Women want to feel like they’re being courted and are collecting dating horror stories like Infinity Stones,” she said, referencing the Avengers power gems. “Meanwhile, a rising number of men feel like they’re entitled to more while doing less.”

Though Bell is not surprised by the “polarizing” reactions she’s sparked from men, she finds their deadbeat responses to be disappointing.

“With the significant number of women who agreed with the dating guidelines I laid out, one would think men would take notes on how to be a true gentleman.”
