“As a regular visitor to Parkes, we inevitably end up at one of the Chinese restaurants for dinner,” says Robert McElhone of Roseville. “This year, we knew it was the same restaurant as last year. When we sat down with our BYO bottle of wine, the waitress said the same thing as last year: ‘Would you like some glasses?’”

His introduction to the sport came from the late, great Max Pearce, who was well known in the horsey world. As far as I know, the duke did not contribute to his success. Onya, Boydie!”
“My cousin, Mary Willsallen, was judging a Four-In-Hand driving competition in Britain where Prince Philip’s team suffered an equipment malfunction,” writes Katrina Watts of Murwillumbah. “The British judges also marked him down for, as a royal, swearing in public while encouraging the horses. Mary was insistent that he be judged on skill, not social status, and won the day.”
Agostino Chiarella of Summer Hill notes that the World Humanoid Robot Games recently took place in Beijing, with more than 2000 robots from 666 teams competing in 51 events. “Some of the robots tripped, broke apart or caught fire. What’s next: the Enhanced Robot Games? Robots on ’roids. Imagine if they caught fire.”
“Just attended a reunion of friends after some years,” reports Don Leayr of Albury. “Many said, ‘I knew you were still kicking ’cos I saw your letter in the Herald and Column 8’.”
