Tonight’s ‘Conspiracies & Coverups’ explores the mysterious Havana Syndrome

Wednesday on the latest episode of “Conspiracies & Coverups,” host and former CIA covert intelligence officer Andrew Bustamante looks for answers about the potential invisible attack against US government officials in Cuba that led to what has come to be called “Havana Syndrome.”

The mysterious condition afflicted diplomats and intelligence officers with symptoms like sudden, unexplained headaches, dizziness and cognitive issues.

Although there’s been no definitive explanation for the onset of symptoms, competing theories include everything from psychogenic illness to directed energy weapons and covert foreign attacks.

Join Bustamante and a roster of experts as he traces the story from Cuba to Russia with the help of interviews, delving into historical cases like the Moscow Signal and hands-on experiments as he tests disturbing theories to determine what’s possible if a motivated foreign adversary had such capabilities at their disposal.

Using intelligence tradecraft and data analysis, Bustamante will evaluate whether Havana Syndrome is a case of mass perception, a hidden weapon or something in between — zeroing in on what the evidence actually supports.

Joining Bustamante in his latest exploration of the strange and unknown will be Dr. John Swegle, co-author of High Power Microwaves; “Alice,” a former CIA intelligence officer; Jake Gray, president of Grey Directive Intelligence; Dr. F. Joseph Pompei, founder and CEO of Holosonics; Dr. James Giordano, neuroscientist and neuroethicist; Dr. Robert Bartholomew, medical sociologist; and former CIA intelligence officer Jihi Bustamante.

The latest episode of the series — produced in coordination with Texas Crew Productions and New York Post Entertainment — premieres Wednesday, May 6 at 10 pm ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.

If you want to tune in to tonight’s “Conspiracies & Coverups” premiere for free, you can stream it with a DIRECTV free trial. DIRECTV is currently offering five days free and $35 off your first month.

Additionally, new episodes of “Conspiracies & Coverups” will stream on HBO Max the morning after airing on the Discovery Channel.
