Two people are in critical condition in hospital after a fire broke out inside a Queen’s apartment building early Monday that also saw a firefighter hospitalized.
The blaze broke out on the second floor of a 5-story apartment building on 45-08 40th Street in Sunnyside, Queens, a FDNY spokesperson told The Post.
Two people were admitted to Elmhurst Hospital in a critical condition, with a firefighter was taken to Cornell Hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
A total of 79 fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene after the first calls came in around 2:39 a.m. and the blaze was under control at 3:21 a.m.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
