UFC fighter Tim ‘Dirty Bird’ Means allegedly headbutted, punched and choked teen daughter —and threw a potato at her head

UFC fighter Tim “Dirty Bird” Means allegedly punched, headbutted and choked his teenage daughter in a sickening attack over chores — in which he bizarrely also threw a potato at her head, according to court docs.

The fighter, who is also a high school wrestling coach, allegedly headbutted his 17-year-old daughter in the nose during a vicious attack over her cleanliness at their home in Tijeras, New Mexico, on Tuesday, according to charging documents obtained by the Albuquerque Journal.

He then pinned her against the kitchen counter while grabbing her neck in a “strangulating manner” — then threw a potato at her head before punching her in the face, according to the court docs.

“There were visible hand and red marks on [her] neck, indicating she was strangled,” the complaint alleged.

“There was blood on and in her nose where she was headbutted and several red marks indicated she was hit in the face and on her cheek.”

Means looked heavy-eyed in his mugshot as he was arrested and booked on child abuse charges Wednesday. He was released on Friday.

Means is a former King of the Cage Lightweight Champion and King of the Cage Junior Welterweight champ with a 33-17 win-loss record in MMA, with 15-14 in the UFC. He has lost five of his last six UFC fights, including his final one in October 2024, when he lost to Court McGee in the first round.

Means, who has used his “Dirty Bird” moniker throughout his career, was previously released from the UFC in 2013 before re-signing with the organization the following year.

In 2016, he was suspended after testing positive for a banned substance – before returning to action six months later.

His hearing is scheduled for May 26.
