This perp knows kung fu!
Wild footage shows a Virginia Beach police officer narrowly dodging a maniac martial artist’s impressive karate move before taking the perp down along the shoreline.
Timothy Allen Wegert, 33, was being chased by cops after allegedly assaulting someone on Atlantic Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on July 5 when the scene straight out of an action movie unfolded, police said.
At least four cops were in pursuit of Wegert — a martial artist and former master instructor at UpLevel Martial Arts in Charlottesville, Virginia — chasing him along a sandy beach before he pulled the stunning maneuver.
As one officer closes in on Wegert, the crazy kung fu master attempts a spinning back kick to the officer’s head – who narrowly ducks the blow, the viral video shows.
The policeman then tackles Wegert and his fellow officers pile on top, cuffing him before he can pull another striking technique, according to the clip.
Wegert was arrested and charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer, along with other misdemeanor counts, including disorderly conduct, police said.
The freaky fighter was seen only hours earlier wildly dancing at a nearby restaurant in the same black-and-white striped pants he was arrested in, according to a witness.
“He’s definitely an outgoing character but seems very nice,” Casey Bunce, who recorded the suspect busting a move, told the Virginia Pilot.
“After I recorded the video, I gave him a high five and he said, ‘Thank you brother,’ so he wasn’t aggressive at all.”
But the kooky kickboxer has a history of instability, according to friend Bill Peters.
Wegert was fired as CEO of UpLevel Martial Arts for multiple assaults that he carried out outside of work, Peters told the outlet.
“I know him very, very well, I know the whole family — what a nice family. It’s a shame,” Peters said.
