WA Police are asking the public for help to find a man last seen heading towards the Bibbulmun Track in February, saying they now hold fears for his safety.
Samuel Robert Whitsed, 27, travelled from Victoria to WA and was last seen walking toward the trail with camping items on Brookton Highway, near Albany Highway, in Armadale on February 18.
Whitsed was believed to have been intending to travel along the track from Brookton Highway to Mundaring but six weeks ago police say a green tent was found by members of the public at Canning Hut.
They later confirmed it was Whitsed’s tent.
The hut is 12 kilometres from the Brookton Campsite, located slightly off Brookton Highway in the Helena National Park.
Whitsed is described as approximately 170-180cm tall, of slim-medium build, with short brown hair, a beard
and moustache. He was last seen wearing black trousers, a red t-shirt or light-coloured jumper, and
slides.
Anyone who sees him or has information relating to his whereabouts or recent movements
should contact police on 131 444.
