Why Southern Hospitality’s Emmy Says It’s Been ‘Wonderful’ Not Having Fiance Will on the Show (Exclusive)

Emmy Sharrett doesn’t regret flying solo on season 4 of Southern Hospitality after her fiancé, Will Kulp, exited the show — even if she is having to deal with all the cast controversy on her own.

“It’s been wonderful not having him on the show,” Emmy, 28, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 22, after Will, 32, announced his departure last year following the conclusion of season 3. “It’s very nice to be able to come home and tell him about my day, and not both of us be like, ‘Oh my God, our day.’”

She noted it’s “very nice to have separation in our relationship between our jobs,” revealing that “it’s a lot” to work together “in every single aspect of your life.”

When Southern Hospitality premiered in 2022, Emmy and Will were both working at Republic Garden & Lounge. She was a VIP server and he was a bartender. As Will began law school, he stepped back from Republic but remained on the show here and there before leaving ahead of season 4.

While Emmy is happily engaged to Will after he popped the question in May 2025, the couple weathered multiple cheating allegations on seasons 2 and 3. Will denied the accusations and Emmy backed him, telling Us exclusively in January 2025 that she did not “believe Will cheated on me at all for one second.”

Now that Emmy is doing the show alone, her story lines haven’t gotten easier.

“Oh, I wish I had a cheating rumor this season,” Emmy confessed to Us, noting that season 4 has had its own challenges. “I envied my fiancé a little bit.”

She explained that while the affair rumors were “awful” and fans saw her being “hysterical all season 3,” this season came with fresh challenges that have been “very hard.”

Emmy has been at odds with Bradley Carter throughout season 4, after he accused her of yelling, “F*** Brad” and “F*** TJ [Dinch]” in her hotel room following the season 3 reunion.

Brad texted Emmy that he could hear everything she was saying and then she alleged that he made her “feel unsafe.” Emmy was later accused by her castmates of using defamatory words when speaking about Brad.

She then doubled down and claimed he was threatening her and stalking her, which he has repeatedly denied. Emmy told Us she’s “deeply apologetic” for everything she said about Brad — teasing they do talk more about their issues the rest of the season.

Emmy also admitted on Wednesday that the show drama has been even harder to handle because Will isn’t there.

“I speak for myself. There is no one else to help speak for me. There’s no one there to back me up,” she explained. “There’s no one there to say that what I’m saying is the truth. There’s no one there to help my narrative.”

Although she didn’t like dealing with “a bunch of people having an issue with me,” without backup, Emmy said she is ultimately grateful Will wasn’t part of the show because it helped her take back her voice.

“It was a lot as one person. But if anything, it’s just made me stronger and more independent and more confident in myself,” Emmy shared. “Even though it’s hard when you’re on a TV show and it’s you versus like four people arguing. It definitely builds a lot of self confidence, if that’s the correct word to use.”

She revealed, “You got to get over your stage [fright] of public speaking, that’s for sure, and group dinner conversations, but no, definitely [I’ve] grown a lot from this season.”

Southern Hospitality airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
