Soccer fans might not be having a ball today.
Fans at the Panama vs. England match Saturday afternoon at MetLife Stadium may be getting a little rain on their World Cup parade.
“The weather around the New York/New Jersey Stadium could be unsettled with a few showers possible this afternoon and evening. While the rain is not expected to be heavy or severe, it will be more of an inconvenience,” FOX Weather meteorologist Stephen McCloud told The Post on Saturday morning.
Crowds at the East Rutherford stadium for the game, which starts at 5 p.m. should not worry about the rain causing any delays.
“The odds of a shower are about 20%, and it is unlikely that any shower that does occur would lead to a delay in the match. Otherwise, the sky will be mostly cloudy,” Heather Zehr, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather told The Post.
Temperatures won’t be too high either, with moderate humidity and light wind.
“Temperatures will be on the low side of historical average through the day,” Zehr added.
“The high ahead of the game will be near 80, then temperatures will slowly drop through the upper 70s during the game. The humidity will be moderate, and the wind will be light out of the south at 4 to 8 mph.”
Next week, New Yorkers will be facing excessive heat — as temperatures will be in the 80s Monday and Tuesday, but then climb to a high of 99 degrees on Wednesday, and 101 on Thursday.
