Dwight Howard Accused of Dragging Out Divorce in Legal Battle With Estranged Wife Amy Luciani (Exclusive)

Dwight Howard’s estranged wife, Amy Luciani (real name Amber Rose Howard), is accusing him of dragging out their ongoing divorce battle.

Luciani, 36, claimed in her Monday, July 6, response filing to the Georgia court, exclusively obtained by Us Weekly, that Howard, 40, filed a protective order earlier this year to allegedly “harass and humiliate” her after their separation.

Luciani was married to the former Los Angeles Lakers player for six months before Us confirmed in July 2025 that she filed for divorce. (That was later dismissed after the pair reconciled. Howard recently filed for divorce in March.)

She alleged that the motion for a protective order was Howard’s attempt to make their divorce harder on Luciani, both mentally and financially. (TMZ previously reported that Howard dropped the protective order in April just weeks after Us broke the news that he had filed for it.)

Luciani claimed in the new docs that the retired NBA player filed the motion “for the mere purpose of annoying, harassing and causing unnecessary delay in the matter.”

She further alleged that Howard’s legal move was also an attempt to make her “incur additional attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation,” arguing that her estranged spouse is aware of their “income disparity.”

Luciani — who denied the allegations made in Howard’s protective order petition — claimed in her Monday response that the basketball star refused to “comply” with her discovery requests when the estranged couple took part in a May telephone conference.

She alleged that Howard would only produce a few of his legal documents, including his 2025 tax return, 1099 and W2 and a “statement of assets from December 31, 2024,” when she was asking for his “personal and business bank statements, credit card statements and the like” from the entirety of their marriage.

Luciani claimed that Howard’s attorneys declared that he would not produce the docs “under any circumstance,” but that has since changed.

On Tuesday, July 7, the exes informed the judge that they “consented to entry of a confidentiality order,” Us can confirm.

Following the hearing, the judge ordered that Howard’s “confidential information” regarding his financial interests, income and business affairs be made available to Luciani. The documents will remain sealed to the public.

Luciani and Howard both agreed to the judge’s stipulation that “neither party shall disseminate, distribute or post, nor cause the dissemination, distribution or posting, of any Confidential Information to or on any form of media, the internet or any form of social media during and after litigation in this action,” per court docs seen by Us.

In addition to the confidentiality agreement, Luciani’s attorney Brittany M. Dixon claimed in a Tuesday affidavit that her client has racked up nearly $9,500 in legal fees since Howard filed for divorce.

She previously requested in her Monday response that the court order the dismissal or denial of Howard’s protective order against her. She has also asked the court to require her ex to “pay the reasonable expenses and attorney’s fees” she has incurred fighting the motion.

According to her Tuesday affidavit, exclusively obtained by Us, Dixon confirmed that she charges $425 per hour for “court proceedings and mediations.”

Dixon told the court that the rate for work on this case done by her paralegal is $225 per hour, while the rate for work completed by her legal assistant is $185 per hour.

“I have spent a total of 27.5 hours on this divorce matter, and my client was charged a total
of $9,454.05,” the lawyer stated, which Luciani is asking Howard to be responsible for paying.

Us Weekly has reached out to attorneys for both Luciani and Howard for comment.
