Family theme park slammed over ‘disrespectful’ Titanic ride for kids — but owner refuses to cave to ‘woke’ brigade

They’re in deep ship.

A farm in the UK has been ripped as “distasteful” by parents after rolling out a children’s ride modeled after the Titanic.

The unsettling attraction is located at the Graveley Fruit Farm in Hitchin, which opened in 1981 and features berry picking, a playground and other family-friendly pursuits.

For just under $3 a pop, children can hop aboard a replica of the ill-fated oceanliner, where tickets are handed out as boarding passes on the cruise, and the ship’s name is clearly visible on the side.

The attraction is even referred to as a “wreck.”

Much like its real-life counterpart, the faux Titanic then lifts into the air and sends the riders hurtling down one of four slides, before depositing them onto a crash mat like a historical luge-scape.

While the Titanic-themed attraction is several years old, it only recently came under fire from parents.

They were not too thrilled with the notion of modeling a kiddie ride after the historical tragedy, which saw 1,500 people lose their lives after the vessel collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912.

“I’m sorry, but this is one of the most distasteful, disrespectful and strange attractions for children,” said one appalled commenter. “I cannot believe that you have created a game and ride based on such a tragedy.”

“Why is it named Titanic? Strange bunch of people who not only enjoy, but endorse this,” said another. “A simple change to the name or color of this ship would make it far less offensive and more appropriate as a children’s ride.”

They compared the ride to a “Twin Towers”-themed attraction and vowed never to visit.

Reps for Graveley initially apologized and vowed to change the name “ASAP”, the Sun reported.

“We are absolutely making no joke about it at all,” they insisted.

However, as of writing, the attraction is still named “The Titanic.”

Farm manager Will explained that they had initially renamed the ride amid pressure from critics, but ultimately decided to change it back after “considerably more people” urged them not to cave to the “woke” brigade, the Daily Mail reported.

“We get around five hundred people a day using it, and as far as I’m aware it has offended only a handful of people,” he said. “Titanic has become almost a byword in the English language. There are no survivors, or for that matter, children of survivors alive today.”
