Plans have emerged for a new “mid-market” apartment tower draped with greenery in the middle of Brisbane.

A development application for the 15-storey building at 39 Lambert Street in Kangaroo Point was lodged with Brisbane City Council.

It would have 52 units, a pool, gym, spa, yoga lawn and lounge and dining areas.

All but four apartments would have two bedrooms.

No detail about the premium units have been provided, other than that they would be “sky homes” with uninterrupted views.

Artist impressions show extensive greenery draped over the building and hanging from balconies.

Three levels of underground parking and bike storage would also be built.

The 1012-square-metre site has been an empty block since about 2018. It was previously occupied by a two-storey, white-brick apartment building.

Keylin is behind the development, with Jackson Teece doing the architecture work. CoStruct is the planned builder.

“The area offers an enviable blend of outdoor recreation and urban energy … riverside walkways, lush parks, and a thriving selection of restaurants, cafes and bars,” Keylin managing director Louis Cheung said in a statement.

“There has been a noticeable gap in the delivery of well-designed, mid-market apartments in this suburb.”

Apartment development in Brisbane has been concentrated heavily in the top of the market over the past 12 months, with many primarily comprising units with three-bedrooms or more.

The development application had not been uploaded to the council website on Thursday evening.
