Melbourne socialite Amy Tossoun will not be prosecuted on allegations she used illicit drugs to spike a friend’s drink at a Mount Buller hotel, with the charge dismissed in court.

Tossoun, 34, of Brighton, told Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday she accepted responsibility for possessing amphetamines, but the charge of introducing a drug into the body of another person was “struck out” in the court system.

The mother had been expected to return to court later this year to contest both charges after earlier being refused a diversion order, which allows a person to avoid a conviction and have charges against them dismissed, usually for a first offence and with the approval of a complainant, provided they accept responsibility for their actions.

On Wednesday, a court spokesperson confirmed both charges had been withdrawn by the magistrate after Tossoun completed a diversion plan. Details of the plan are unknown.

Last month, Tossoun and her lawyer travelled to Mansfield, the closest courthouse to the popular winter ski area of Mount Buller, where a magistrate was told the accused woman had been captured on CCTV pulling a bag of drugs out of her jacket at a bar before lacing the drink of her former friend, Melissa Jreissati, with the powder.

The prosecution revealed the women and other friends had been staying at a mountain chalet on July 26, 2025, when the group ended their night at Kooroora Hotel.

The prosecution said Tossoun had ordered drinks while another friend took Jreissati to the dance floor. Soon after, Tossoun then allegedly removed MDMA from her ski jacket and placed some in a vodka soda drink before it was carried and given to Jreissati.

The complainant was later treated by paramedics, fearing she was suffering a heart attack and unaware of what had been put in her drink.

The magistrate earlier heard the entire incident was captured clearly on hotel CCTV.

This masthead previously revealed that Tossoun co-founded The Richmond Dentist with her ex-husband, Dr Fady Tossoun, and was earlier this year reported to be in the running to join the reboot of reality show Real Housewives of Melbourne.

Jreissati is the marketing director of her family-owned, award-winning Yarra Valley winery Levantine Hill Estate. Her father is Elias Jreissati, the executive group chairman of the Jreissati Group, which includes property development company Bensons Property Group.

During the hearing in June, Tossoun’s lawyer Michelle Button urged the court to place her client on a diversion program, which allows first-time offenders to avoid a criminal record, but this was refused due to what magistrate Amina Bhai said was the seriousness of the matter.

Instead, the matter was adjourned to a contested hearing at Shepparton where a string of witnesses present on the night were expected to be called to provide evidence.

On Wednesday, the matter was brought before the court early and a diversion plan granted.

The matter is expected to return to the Mansfield court in October.
