Dozens of people have been arrested in a cocaine crackdown in Brisbane’s party precinct.
Police said they were targeting drug trafficking in Fortitude Valley during May.
Body camera footage showed police going through a locked box full of cash, and fake beer can used to store a white substance.
A young man could be heard asking officers “will I go to jail for this?” outside James Markets on James Street.
About 169 grams of cocaine, $40,000 in cash and one knife were seized, with 48 people arrested.
Charges included trafficking, supplying and producing dangerous drugs.
Police said they had disrupted an “established” supplier.
“These types of offences are never simply a private exchange between two people,” Senior Sergeant Travers Weychardt said.
“They impact the whole community, fuelling crime and endangering lives.”
